Antis Township and Bellwood Borough are working together to develop a 10 Year Joint Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan is a resident driven process.  Antis Township and Bellwood Borough have applied for, and been awarded, a grant from DCED which will be used to hire a consultant.   The consultant will work through a Steering Committee, that will have representation from each municipal government, but will primarily be made up of residents, neighbors and business owners who live and work in the Bellwood-Antis Community.

Please see the Project Website for additional information and updates as this moves forward in 2025 and throughout 2026!  The PUBLIC SURVEY is live on this website now and so please go on and fill it out based on what your needs and desires are!!

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT TO RESIDENTS?

A Comprehensive Plan lays the groundwork for all aspects of the community and its future.  It provides a way for the residents to identify problems, and opportunities as well as the formulation of recommendations, proposals, and strategies to address them.  In a nutshell it provides the Municipality with the most important issues and an estimated timeline and plan to make improvements.  It also helps to identify what makes the Bellwood Antis Community unique and will determine what the next 10 years of action from your local government will be.  That may include focusing on expanding utilities, addressing storm-water issues, expanding the Park and Recreation offerings, or something completely different that the residents identify as a core need or desire.

Once an issue is identified in a a Comprehensive Plan it helps with different funding opportunities (i.e. grant applications) to try and address the issue.  This is significant and especially important for small municipalities, like ours, to address as these projects tend to be expensive.

So, if you have ever wondered:

  • Who is in charge of that area/road/park/etc.?
  • What are these government officials actually doing?
  • When are we going to see this improvement/project/service?
  • Where are my tax dollars going?
  • Why is the Township/Borough doing  that?
  • How come my road is not getting paved, that property allowed to look like that, or any other issue not being addressed?

OR

  • Have ever had a complaint, issue or idea how we, as a Community, can improve.
  • Would like to influence how the Bellwood-Antis Community looks in 1, 3, 5 or 10 years
